About Me

A public speaker with a difference

I’m married and I have three children. When I’m not giving talks I teach lipreading to deafened adults and I also enjoy creating, and selling, my clay or stone sculptures.

I’m a member of British Actors Equity and have recently gained diplomas in the History of Medicine and in the Philosophy of Medicine from the Society of Apothecaries.

When not doing these things I enjoy gossip, playing with my cats and my family and attempting to garden.

Louise Reed Speaker

I’m interested in social history. I think that adding small, apparently insignificant details of a period or of someone’s life, lends colour to the talks I give. Talks are carefully researched (each one takes a year or more to prepare) and I try to make the finished product interesting without being ponderous.
